Clinical Laboratory Specialist, Per Diem Position

Key Responsibilities:

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at UCLA Health, you will conduct various technical procedures in the Emergency Department, Anesthesiology, and Core Laboratory. Your primary duties include:

Specimen processing and method development
Testing across multiple areas such as chemistry, hematology, coagulation, immunoassay, and blood gases
Maintaining laboratory instruments and performing quality control, calibration, reagent preparation, and data entry

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

A current, valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license
A Bachelor's Degree
Demonstrated technical competence in high-volume chemistry/hematology
Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as pipetting and computer data entry
Two years of recent experience in a high-volume laboratory setting (preferred)
Must pass the Ishihara Color Vision exam, i.e. visual acuity including color differentiation
