About Our Facility:

Our institution is a 127-bed healthcare facility, featuring a 24-hour emergency department, recognized as a Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center. We are equipped with advanced diagnostic technology, a 10-bed intensive care unit, a maternity unit, a radiation therapy center, and a separate emergency department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accurately interpret and verify medication orders in the pharmacy information system.
2. Compounding and dispensing medications with precision.
3. Monitor patient medication regimens for potential contraindications, interactions, and appropriateness of therapy.
4. Provide timely and accurate medication information to healthcare professionals and patients.
5. Engage proactively with medical staff to resolve drug therapy issues.
6. Document all clinical interventions and activities.
7. Maintain the hospital's formulary, minimizing non-formulary purchases and adhering to approved protocols.
8. Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff.
9. Lead initiatives to enhance medication turnaround times and identify efficiency improvements.
10. Mentor and train new staff members as needed.
11. Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents.
12. Contribute to the organization's quality improvement, risk management, and patient safety initiatives.
13. Ensure compliance with controlled substance record-keeping.
Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:
- B.S. or Pharm D. from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the relevant State Board of Pharmacy.
- BLS & ACLS certification (BLS required within 90 days of employment; ACLS required for Code Blue attendance).

- Completion of educational requirements for compounding sterile preparations or the ability to fulfill these within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Minimum of one year of experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting.
