Requirements / Qualifications

TRAINING, EDUCATION,

AND EXPERIENCE:

High school graduation is required, along with a minimum of one year of experience working with individuals or students in a structured environment. Candidates must meet one of the following criteria: completion of at least two years of college coursework (48 semester units) at an accredited institution, possession of an associate's degree, successful completion of the district paraprofessional assessment, or compliance with No Child Left Behind (NCLB) standards.

Experience with students with special needs is preferred. Familiarity with computer systems is also advantageous.
Positions such as IEP Designated Instructional Paraprofessional II-Special Education require one year of college-level coursework (30 accredited units).

For IEP Designated Instructional Paraprofessional III-Special Education, two years of college-level coursework (60 accredited units) is necessary, along with at least 75% of the school year served in the role of IEP Designated Instructional Paraprofessional II-Special Education.

For the IEP Designated Instructional Teacher Associate-Special Education position, three years of college-level coursework (90 accredited units) is required, along with 75% of the school year served as an IEP Designated Instructional Paraprofessional III-Special Education.

Teacher Candidates must have a minimum of 120 college units, have served as an IEP Designated Instructional Teacher Associate-Special Education for at least 75% of the preceding two school years, and provide proof of current enrollment in courses leading to a bachelor's degree and/or teaching credential.


LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Successful completion of the employee entrance evaluation (lifting test) is required. Candidates must be willing to work at various locations and participate in training sessions provided by the school district.

Must be compliant with NCLB standards.
