Job Overview

Teresian House is seeking a dedicated Activities Coordinator. This role is a Full-Time, Day position that includes a commitment to work every other weekend and rotating holidays.

The Activities Coordinator will be tasked with:

  • Designing, executing, and overseeing engaging leisure activities for residents, under the guidance of the Director of Activities.
  • Creating and distributing a unit-specific activity calendar by the beginning of each month.
  • Requesting necessary supplies from the Activities Director while being mindful of budget constraints.
  • Ensuring the proper use and storage of tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Motivating all residents to engage in activities suited to their individual needs, interests, and capabilities.
  • Conducting resident activity assessments as required, documenting each resident's responses to planned activities and relevant sections on the MDS.
  • Supporting the unit and performing additional duties as necessary for the effective operation of Teresian House and the well-being of the residents.

Ideal candidates for the Activities Coordinator role will possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED, with some college coursework in gerontology preferred.
  • Recent experience in recreational activities, ideally with a geriatric demographic.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A detail-oriented approach, with a cooperative spirit and significant initiative required to facilitate recreational events.
  • Creativity and strong organizational skills.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to operate the Teresian House van/bus.
  • CPR certification or the willingness to obtain certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Availability to conduct 1-2 evening programs each month.
