Job Description

Steel Partners Holdings L is a diversified global holding company with significant interests in leading companies across various industries. We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Lean/Continuous Improvement to lead transformative initiatives at HandyTube Corporation.

This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on leadership experience in implementing Lean methodologies and 80/20 principles. You will work cross-functionally to identify opportunities for improvement, new product development, streamline processes, and drive sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive continuous improvement strategy aligned with HandyTube's business objectives.
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact improvement opportunities across the organization.
  • Lead root-cause analysis, establish KPIs, and implement solutions that drive efficiency and cost savings.
  • Guide teams in creating Value Stream Maps, Kaizen Roadmaps, and other Lean tools to drive process improvements.
  • Champion Lean Management Systems at all organizational levels.
  • Drive cultural change by engaging and mentoring employees in Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Lead training programs that enhance Lean capabilities across the organization.
  • Work closely with leadership, engineering, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to achieve business goals.
  • Improve customer satisfaction by optimizing processes that reduce lead times, enhance product quality, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Lead the approval and execution of major capital expenditure projects, ensuring alignment with Lean principles and strategic goals.
Requirements
  • Proven track record in leading large teams through organizational transformation.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate others toward achieving business goals.
  • Deep understanding of process improvement methodologies with a focus on Lean and Six Sigma tools.
  • Experience in successfully implementing these methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and drive strategic initiatives that align with broader business objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to engage directly in the work, providing hands-on leadership and support to teams as needed.
Qualifications
  • BS or BA in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Equivalent experience in business transformation and high-impact roles will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in implementing Lean or continuous improvement programs within a manufacturing or operations environment.
