Position Overview:

As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Breast Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting advanced imaging procedures that aid in the diagnosis of breast-related conditions. This role requires a commitment to patient care and adherence to established protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform breast imaging and radiographic procedures under the supervision of the Laboratory/Radiology Director.
  • Ensure that patient needs are met in accordance with the directives of medical staff.
  • Compile and submit necessary statistical reports and documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide age-appropriate care, understanding the developmental needs of patients across the lifespan.
  • Identify and address the specific needs of patients, including infants, adolescents, and seniors.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards set forth by governing bodies.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiological Technology program is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in radiology is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of radiology policies and procedures is essential.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse populations are necessary.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification is mandatory.
  • State of Texas Medical Board licensure as a Medical Radiologic Technician (MRT) is required.
  • Mammography certification must be obtained within three months of employment.
  • Mammography Certification (ARRT-M) is preferred.
