Job Summary

The Methodist Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the nursing staff in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Obtain and record patient information, including vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other relevant data.
  • Assist patients with mobility, including regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating, as well as transferring patients to and from other units or departments.
  • Collect and process specimens for diagnostic or waived tests, ensuring accuracy and timely transfer of specimens.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including eating and drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination, while maintaining patient dignity and comfort.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to the licensed nurse, ensuring prompt attention to patient needs.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
