Position Summary:

The Residential Waste Management Operator plays a crucial role in delivering waste collection services to clients with a focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism. This position involves the collection of solid waste and recyclables along designated routes, ensuring proper transportation to designated facilities.

Primary Duties:
  • Drive a collection vehicle for residential waste and recycling services
  • Efficiently load waste materials into the truck and compact them as necessary
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip safety checks on the vehicle
  • Report any mechanical issues to the supervisor promptly
  • Adhere to safe driving practices at all times
  • Supervise and coordinate with assigned helpers
  • Comply with all safety regulations and standards
  • Keep accurate logs of services rendered
  • Participate in safety meetings and branch discussions
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background
  • Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • At least one year of experience in commercial driving
  • Proven ability to operate the required equipment safely
Skills and Competencies:
  • Knowledge of vehicle components and maintenance practices
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Capability to read and follow operational instructions
  • Adaptability to changing work conditions
  • Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working in noisy environments

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform various physical tasks throughout the day
  • Visual acuity necessary for vehicle operation
