As a Family Medicine Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical services to individuals with intellectual disabilities, including direct delivery of clinical practices, monitoring of medical services, and participating in treatment team processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality medical services to individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Participate in treatment team processes and advocate for the medical needs of individuals
- Work with Family Nurse Practitioners, consultants, and community medical providers to ensure comprehensive care
- Order, perform, and interpret tests and analyze records to diagnose conditions
- Consult with patients to understand their symptoms and health concerns
- Advise clients on diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and coordinate care services
- Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care
- Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments
- Comply with HHSC and facility documentation timeframe requirements
- Monitor and maintain facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet standards for compliance with accrediting agencies
