Job Summary:

Texas Health Denton is seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our Emergency Department team. As a Paramedic, you will provide safe patient care under physician delegation, administering medications, completing accurate documentation, and providing consistent attention to patient needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer IV fluids, medications, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Complete accurate documentation in the electronic health record
  • Provide consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility, and hygiene needs
  • Apply antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices
  • Cervical collar management
  • External defibrillation
  • Nasal cannula or oxygen mask application
  • Oral airway insertion and removal
  • Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV access
  • Draw blood from ports

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship required
  • EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required or LP - Licensed Paramedic
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of hire required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (ED Only) within 60 days of hire required
