Job Summary

Duke Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer oxygen, aerosolized medication, and other respiratory therapies as prescribed by physicians.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including pulmonary function studies, EKGs, and cardiac monitoring.
  • Assure correct set-up, safety, and function of all equipment and supplies necessary for patient care.
  • Provide education to patients, families, and healthcare teams on respiratory care and disease management.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
Requirements
  • Completion of an AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent).
  • North Carolina State Licensure or Provisional License.
  • Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if applicable).
Work Environment

This role will be performed in a fast-paced hospital setting, requiring excellent communication and teamwork skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a dynamic environment and prioritize tasks to meet the needs of patients and the healthcare team.
