General Overview:

As a vital member of our dedicated care team, the Housekeeper is responsible for performing essential cleaning tasks that uphold the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of our facility, adhering to all applicable regulations and company standards.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the Director or Manager of Housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to all infection control protocols to safeguard the health of residents, staff, and visitors.
  2. Conduct cleaning operations throughout the facility, including resident living areas, therapy spaces, and dining services.
  3. Exhibit flexibility by providing cleaning support in various locations as needed.
  4. Deliver exceptional customer service to all residents and staff.
  5. Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving throughout the workday.
  6. Manage frequent interruptions while maintaining focus on tasks.
  7. Be prepared for potential exposure to infectious materials and health hazards.
  8. Perform routine housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting, polishing, waste disposal, and mopping.
  9. Assist in the safe evacuation of residents when necessary.
  10. Collaborate effectively with both professional and non-professional staff.
  11. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience in cleaning or healthcare settings is advantageous, though training will be provided.

Physical Requirements:

The candidate must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs from floor to waist, lifting 10 lbs from waist to shoulder, carrying 30 lbs, and pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs.

Knowledge of environmental services practices and familiarity with the regulations governing these functions in long-term care facilities is essential.
