Job Summary

This is a semi-skilled position operating automotive equipment with responsibility for towing functions for the Parking, Towing and Abandoned Vehicles Unit of the Department of Public Works. The work involves storing and securing crime scene vehicles and may involve hazardous situations when removing and impounding vehicles. The position also includes light or heavy physical labor when not operating equipment, and related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A valid class D (or higher) Louisiana driver's license.
  • Applicants must have a good driving record for the last eighteen (18) months.
  • Applicants who have outstanding traffic or parking violations, or one or more "Driving While Intoxicated Violations" within the last eighteen (18) months will not be eligible for employment in this classification.
Examination

A written exam weighted 100%. This is an original entrance examination.
