We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at the Middlesex Sheriff's Office. As a Correctional Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to inmates and detainees in a correctional setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians with clinical duties and perform emergency services as necessary
- Dispense medication as directed and account for medication, supplies, and equipment
- Make entries into infirmary logs and confer with other shifts regarding patients and infirmary activities
- Conduct intakes, chart reviews, and medication verification tasks
- Ensure compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) and National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) standards
- Work with State Office of Pharmacy Services (SOPS) regarding medication ordering and discharge planning
- Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Current RN license issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Minimum of three (3) years of RN experience preferred
- Prior experience in a correctional or similar setting also preferred
- Ability to participate in professional development activities
- Strong written, communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills
This position is based in a correctional facility and requires the ability to work on varied shifts, weekends, nights, holidays, and subject to being forced to work over 8 hours depending on operational needs.
Salary and BenefitsThe base salary for this position is $68,494.16, plus additional benefits.
