We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laborer to join our team at the University of Tennessee. As a Laborer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general cleaning duties, including offices, lavatories, waste/recycle removal, and public areas.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
- Operate various cleaning equipment and machinery, including vacuum cleaners, mops, and brooms.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and ensure that all areas are clean and organized.
- Work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical training preferred.
- 3-5 years of work experience in a related field preferred.
- Ability to stand, lift, and have good balance for extended periods.
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral/written instructions.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Understanding of chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to stand, lift, have good balance, and be able to lift 50 lbs.

- Flexible to various scheduling, including nights, weekend work, and some holidays.
