Drilling Operations Assistant

Job Summary: Boart Longyear is seeking a Driller Assistant to join our team. As a Driller Assistant, you will provide semi-skilled labor-intensive assistance for drilling crews. This includes operating various types of vehicles, equipment/machinery, and performing tasks such as hauling supplies, manual material handling, and mixing drilling fluids. You will also be responsible for sample collection, building chip trays, and assisting with rigging up/down and moving to new drill locations. Additionally, you will be responsible for fueling site equipment, conducting preventative maintenance, and completing daily site inspections.
Responsibilities:
Provide semi-skilled labor-intensive assistance for drilling crews
Operate various types of vehicles, equipment/machinery
Haul supplies to and from the drill site
Perform manual material handling
Mix drilling fluids
Sample collection
Build chip trays
Assist with rigging up/down and moving to new drill locations
Fuel site equipment
Conduct preventative maintenance
Complete daily site inspections
Requirements:
Willing to travel by plane or car to worksites throughout Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and other states
Able to commute long distances for shifts (300+ miles)
Willing to work in remote locations and in all-weather elements
Willing to work at job sites for extended periods of time, 12+ hour shifts for 14-20 days at a time
Must have a valid U.S. Driver's License
Must have valid U.S. Work Authorization
Must pass background and drug screening
Must pass a Physical Functional Fitness Evaluation
High School diploma or GED or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of directly related experience in drilling AND/OR Minimum of 1 year experience in related positions such as: construction laborer, heavy laborer, mechanic, and mechanical work
