Join The Steppingstone Foundation as a College Success Advisor and play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our Scholars. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with students and their families to ensure a smooth transition to college and beyond.
Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with a caseload of Scholars, providing individualized support and guidance to help them achieve their academic and career goals.
- Collaborate with program staff to design and implement college and career readiness programming, including workshops, events, and one-on-one advising sessions.
- Support Scholars in navigating the college application and financial aid processes, ensuring they have the resources and information needed to succeed.
- Work closely with families to provide resources and support, helping them to understand and navigate the college process.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of program-wide initiatives, using data and research to inform decision-making and drive results.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as education, counseling, or social work.
- 1-2+ years of experience working in college counseling or a related field, preferably in an urban, multicultural setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of college access and persistence strategies, as well as experience working with historically marginalized populations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A competitive salary and benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401(k) plan.
- A generous paid time off policy, including 15 days of PTO, 2 days of discretionary time off, and 5 wellness days.
- A $500 home office set-up stipend, plus quarterly stipends of $50.
