Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Shop Mechanic to join our team at Quality Carriers. As a Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing tractors and trailers, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers, ensuring that all equipment meets Federal FHWA standards.
  • Yard Operations: Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop as needed.
  • Parts Management: Order and receive parts and supplies as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards.
  • Work Environment: Clean, organize, and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
  • Specialized Tasks: Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned, including using welding equipment.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Able to learn and demonstrate vehicle and equipment theory, principles, and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge and Abilities: Able to learn and demonstrate tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies, and procedures.
