Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified faculty member to join our Department of Cellular Biology and Anatomy at Augusta University. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and develop an innovative and independent research program, attract and maintain extramural funding, and participate in teaching.

Responsibilities
  • Teach in the Medical College of Georgia and/or the School of Graduate Studies and mentor graduate students.
  • Establish a vigorous independent extramurally funded research program to complement research strengths and goals of the department and the university.
  • Participate on various committees and provide public and professional service to the community and the department/college/university/USG.
Requirements
  • A doctoral degree in Medicine or PhD in Biological Sciences.
  • Candidates at the Assistant Professor level must demonstrate a strong potential for research, including obtaining extramural funding. Candidates at the Associate Professor and Professor level must possess external funding at the NIH R01 level and demonstrate potential for its continuation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extramural funding and potential for its continuation.

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
