Sales Representative Building Materials

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Inside Sales Building Materials professional to join our team at Gillman Home Center.
Job Summary:The Inside Sales Building Materials Specialist will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers and contractors with project needs, and maintaining a positive and approachable demeanor. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building materials, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist customers and contractors with project needs, including providing product information, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Maintain a positive and approachable demeanor, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers and team members.
- Stay up-to-date on building materials, industry trends, and company policies to provide accurate and informed assistance to customers.
- Utilize software to create accurate take-offs, estimates, quotes, customer orders, purchase orders, and invoices for new homes, businesses, outbuildings, and additions.
- Process returns, credits, and late payments as needed, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of customer issues.
- Work collaboratively with the Sales Manager to resolve customer complaints, product damage, or other issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, answering the telephone, stocking and recovering inventory, and maintaining a safe working environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 3+ years of experience in the building materials/construction industry preferred.
- 1+ years of customer service experience required.
- Retail experience a plus.
