About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at EFI. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing on-site setup and installation of our industrial inkjet printers at customer locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Unpack and set up printer components, including controllers, print heads, and remote cabinets.
  • Conduct initial setup and adjustment of the printer, ensuring it meets factory standards.
  • Provide formal customer operator and printer maintenance training, including assessing customer training needs and making recommendations for additional training.
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting and repairs of complex electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic problems.
  • Document technical feedback via our Case Management System (CMS) following EFI guidelines.
  • Travel up to 75% of the workweek, with occasional weekend work to meet customer needs.
Requirements
  • Minimum two-year technical degree or equivalent experience in mechanical, digital, and electronic technology.
  • Minimum two years of experience in field engineering positions servicing complex electro-mechanical devices and high-demand customer locations.
  • Demonstrated customer management skills and strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to independently manage a large service territory, including effective management of assets.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems to the component level.
  • Working knowledge of RIPS, color theory, Microsoft Windows, Linux operating systems, and basic networking protocols.
  • Working knowledge of materials and chemicals used in the printing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of personal computers, industrial inkjet printers, large format printers, and/or presses, and printing applications.
  • Knowledge of high and low voltage wiring and ability to identify and qualify single-phase and three-phase power requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, including using critical alignment tools with tolerances of 0.001 inches.
  • Frequent lifting of objects up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces, crawl on hard concrete floors, and physically contort to access components.
