Fleet Safety Supervisor Job Description

At Tomra, we are committed to creating a safe and sustainable future. As a Fleet Safety Supervisor, you will play a critical role in directing the transportation safety management process and providing support to our transportation organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Environment Health and Safety (EHS) operations within assigned regions to maintain the safety and health of all personnel.
  • Craft short and long-term strategies to build a culture of safety within the transportation organization.
  • Develop and implement measures to achieve consistent safe practices throughout the Company's transportation organization.
  • Manage and track compliance inspections, audits, hazard findings, JSAs, and other safety-related activities.
  • Investigate accidents and injuries within assigned regions and prepare necessary materials and evidence for use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
  • Provide training and support to transportation staff to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct vendor audits to determine compliance with FMCSR and other regulations.
  • Assist with management of roadside inspection process.
  • Continuously monitor and provide expertise to the organization regarding regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an environmental health and/or safety-related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years transportation safety management and/or other safety training experience.
  • Specialized education and/or credentials in the safety profession are strongly preferred.
  • Smith System training certification.
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional, multi-location teams.
