Job Summary

Baldor Specialty Food is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to oversee the supervision and training of drivers, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation management, with experience in DOT regulations and fleet management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Driver Supervision and Training: Supervise and train drivers to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Logistics Coordination: Coordinate the tracking of driver information, including DOT logs and vehicle safety inspections.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and manage driver performance, including on-time delivery, realized PvA miles, and selling units per hour.
  • Training and Development: Identify industry best practices and implement training programs to improve driver performance.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure drivers fulfill duties safely, including monitoring vehicle safety and safe usage of ramps and handcarts.
  • Administrative Tasks: Ensure accurate completion of all delivery and driver-related paperwork, including invoices, trip reports, and fuel tickets.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 4-6 years of transportation experience, including knowledge of DOT and safety regulations, and experience in operation of computerized fleet management systems.
  • CDL License: Preferred
Work Environment

This role requires a fast-paced environment with the ability to make sound decisions for the safety of drivers and the business. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve company goals.
