Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Co-Teacher to join our team at Science Academies of New York. As a Co-Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting our teachers and students in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with lesson planning and instruction to ensure a high-quality educational experience for students.
  • Work closely with small groups of students, providing targeted support and intervention to help them succeed.
  • Participate in regular meetings and attend school-wide events to stay connected with the community and contribute to the school's mission.
  • Implement classroom policies and procedures to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Lead students to and from specials and lunch, promoting a sense of community and responsibility.
  • Effectively manage student behavior, using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to create a calm and focused atmosphere.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations or in an urban setting is a plus.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred, but novice teachers are encouraged to apply.
  • Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education is required.
