Special Education Teacher

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Syracuse City School District. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the varying learning styles and abilities of students.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and technologies to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and other specialists to support student learning and development.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid New York State Special Education Teaching License or eligibility for certification.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Experience with developmental delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Behaviors, and Special Day Class Setting.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and positive behavior support strategies.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
