Job Title: Senior Linux System Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux System Administrator to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As a Senior Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, performance, and security of our Linux-based systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot Linux-based systems, including servers, workstations, and network devices.
  • Implement and manage Linux-based infrastructure, including storage, networking, and security.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate system administration tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operation of Linux-based systems and infrastructure.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in Linux system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware and KVM.
  • Knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN and NAS.
  • Experience with networking technologies, including TCP/IP and DNS.
  • Strong scripting skills, including Bash and Python.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL v3 certification.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, including AWS and Azure.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including Docker and Kubernetes.
