Job Summary

ASARCO LLC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of mobile mining equipment and electric haul trucks in shop and field environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely Maintain and Repair Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mobile mining equipment and electric haul trucks to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Perform Repairs and Maintenance: Conduct repairs and maintenance in the maintenance shop or in the field, utilizing knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and air conditioning systems.
  • Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, rotating shifts, and occasional overtime and holidays.
  • Utilize Diagnostic Equipment: Familiarity with hand-held diagnostic equipment preferred.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment: Requires wearing personal protective equipment as required to minimize health exposure in a mining environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 Years Journeyman Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a journeyman mechanic, with a focus on heavy equipment, diesel, and automotive repair.
  • Heavy-Duty Equipment Experience: Experience working with heavy-duty equipment, including mobile mining equipment and electric haul trucks.
  • Knowledge of Safety Protocols: Good working knowledge of modern safety systems and protocols.
