Health Safety Environment Professional

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to lead our job site safety program and set the tone for an incident and injury-free work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct site observations for safety compliance and behavior-based inspections, and perform incident investigations while adhering to company policies.
- Assist the Operations Team with pre-planning safety into all situations through risk-assessment, job hazard analysis, identifying hazards, and putting in place controls.
- Readies and provides training documentation and other materials to ensure worksites have required OSHA, MSHA, and DOT documentation in place.
- Recognizes loss exposure to the project by utilizing HSE risk management techniques and applies creative and innovative techniques for management of risk exposure.
- Conducts Subcontractor Safe starts and assists the project team in overseeing subcontractor safety compliance and performance.
- Conducts, develops, and oversees all OSHA and MSHA inspections and related training, as well as new hire orientation.
- Provides safety expertise to the Project Team and in jobsite support.
- Analyzes and reviews the Myers' safety culture and suggests change processes to establish proactive and desirable behavior as per the core values.
- HSE/Safety related Bachelor's Degree and minimum 5 years of experience in a HSE/Safety role; OR no degree with 7+ years of experience in a Heavy Civil construction supervisor/manager role.
- Experience with HSE responsibilities on multiple projects or $25mil+ in revenue.
- Valid driver's license required.
- HSE/Safety certification a plus.
- Must be able to travel overnight or long distances on occasion.
- Must be knowledgeable of OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations.
