Job Title: Health Safety Environment Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join our team of professionals working on heavy civil construction projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the overall job site safety program and set the tone for an incident and injury-free work environment.
  • Conduct site observations for safety compliance and behavior-based inspections, and perform incident investigations while adhering to company policies.
  • Assist the Operations Team with pre-planning safety into all situations through risk assessment, job hazard analysis, identifying hazards, and putting in place controls.
  • Readies and provides training documentation and other materials to ensure worksites have required OSHA, MSHA, and DOT documentation in place.
  • Recognize loss exposure to the project by utilizing HSE risk management techniques and apply creative and innovative techniques for management of risk exposure.
  • Conduct Subcontractor Safe starts and assist the project team in overseeing subcontractor safety compliance and performance.
  • Conduct, develop, and oversee all OSHA and MSHA inspections and related training, as well as new hire orientation.
  • Provide safety expertise to the Project Team and in jobsite support.
  • Analyze and review the Myers' safety culture and suggest change processes to establish proactive and desirable behavior as per the core values.
Qualifications:
  • HSE/Safety related Bachelor's Degree and minimum 5 years of experience in a HSE/Safety role; OR no degree with 7+ years of experience in a Heavy Civil construction supervisor/manager role.
  • Experience with HSE responsibilities on multiple projects or $25mil+ in revenue.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • HSE/Safety certification a plus.
  • Must be able to travel overnight or long distances on occasion.
  • Must be knowledgeable of OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations.
