Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Mechanical Systems Inspector to join our team at the U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander in Chief. As a key member of our Quality Assurance Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the inspection and maintenance of nuclear mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical, piping, and structural inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct pre-arrival and material condition assessment inspections to identify potential issues and ensure safe operation.
  • Perform various tests, certifications, and acceptance reviews to verify the quality of completed work.
  • Inspect weld joints and perform non-destructive tests (NDT) to ensure the integrity of nuclear welding.
  • Ensure reactor grade cleanliness and shipboard systems by performing surveillance inspections and final inspections prior to system closure.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections performed, results, and corrective actions taken.
  • Interpret diagrams, specifications, drawings, and technical requirements to ensure compliance with job applications.
  • Use specialized measuring and inspection devices to verify the quality of materials and components.
  • Initiate and authorize rejection of workmanship, components, materials, and procedures that do not meet specifications.
  • Verify materials by conducting physical tests, physical comparisons, or certification documentation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong understanding of quality assurance principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve high-quality results.

Additionally, you must be able to interpret and apply regulatory requirements and industry standards, as well as maintain accurate records and reports.
