Position Overview:

The Senior Internal Auditor is tasked with executing intricate and comprehensive audit assignments to verify the precision and reliability of the organization’s financial and operational controls.

This role encompasses the planning and execution of audits, formulating findings and recommendations, and aiding in the creation of annual audit strategies.

The Senior Internal Auditor is pivotal in sustaining the efficacy of internal controls and ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and standards.


Qualifications and Experience:
Educational Background:

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required. Possession of CPA or CIA certification is preferred (or in progress) along with other relevant qualifications.


Professional Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting and/or private sector, ideally in a senior or supervisory capacity. Familiarity with the COSO framework and internal control principles is essential. Prior experience in the industry is advantageous.


Core Competencies:

Exceptional organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail are crucial. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary for success in this role.


Key Responsibilities:
Audit Execution:

Conduct complex and thorough audit work independently, ensuring accuracy and comprehensiveness in all audit endeavors. Plan and implement audits, generating detailed findings and recommendations based on audit outcomes.

Ensure that audits and assignments are finalized by designated deadlines and in alignment with established audit standards and protocols.


Audit Planning and Development:

Assist in the formulation of the annual audit plans, which includes defining the scope of internal audits and pinpointing critical areas for examination. Collaborate with management to outline audit objectives, scope, and methodologies for each audit task.


Reporting and Communication:

Draft comprehensive audit reports and presentations for evaluation by senior management and audit committees, including external auditors and other consultants. Clearly communicate audit findings, recommendations, and corrective measures to relevant stakeholders.


Compliance and Controls:

Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures. Identify opportunities for enhancement in internal controls and propose improvements to fortify the control environment.


Collaboration and Support:

Engage closely with other departments and audit teams to support audit initiatives and facilitate the sharing of information and insights. Provide mentorship and assistance to junior auditors and contribute to the development of audit methodologies and best practices.


Additional Responsibilities:

Carry out other job-related tasks as assigned by the Director of Internal Audit.


Work Environment:

Regularly required to sit or stand. Frequently required to utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical documentation, and/or use a keyboard. Occasional travel for business purposes may be necessary.
