Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Auditor to join our team at Texas Children's Health Plan. As a Senior Auditor, you will be responsible for designing and conducting independent, objective assurance and consulting activities to add value and improve operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in risk assessment and departmental planning activities
  • Assist Audit Services Leadership in activities related to Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and the development of annual audit plans
  • Develop project-based risk assessments to determine the scope of a given project and identify key operational, fraud-specific, and IT risk and control relationships for validation
  • Identify risks outside the scope of assigned audits and other projects, document the risks, and communicate risks to Audit Services leadership
  • Assist Audit Services Leadership in the creation and maintenance of budget tracking tools, dashboards, and key metrics
  • Identify and evaluate potential projects to improve management of risks, add value, and improve the organization's operations
  • Independently plan, conduct, and manage operational, financial, and compliance audits, investigations, and other projects in accordance with professional auditing standards and departmental policies and procedures
  • Communicate audit information such as results and conclusions in accordance with professional auditing standards and departmental policies and procedures
  • Create collaborative positive working relationships with Audit Services staff, clients, and other staff, and external parties
Requirements
  • Required bachelor's degree in a business-related field
  • Preferred Licenses/Certifications: CPA, CERT-CIA, LSSC
  • Required 5 years progressive experience in an audit and/or accounting environment, including specific experience in performing audit assignments in a lead role and preferred experience in auditing within the healthcare industry
  • A master's degree in a business or finance-related field may substitute for two (2) years of the experience requirement
