Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Duke Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.
  • Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and act as a team leader or charge nurse as assigned.
  • Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care, including equipment and material resources.
  • Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs, and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
  • High school or GED graduation required.
  • 1-3 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified in a clinical setting, depending on the level of the position.
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required.
  • BLS required.
