Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant I Certified to join our team at UNC Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our providers and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine clinical and administrative tasks, including rooming and intake processes, collecting patient data, and assisting with treatments and procedures.
  • Collect and process patient specimens, administer medications, and perform tests under the direction of a provider.
  • Ensure exam and treatment rooms are properly stocked and maintained, and assist with patient registration and scheduling.
  • Provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills, engaging positively with patients and families, and working effectively as a team with staff and providers.
  • Use a computer to document required information into the electronic medical record.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES is strongly preferred.
  • Medical Assistant certification by AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA required; Basic Life Support Certification from AHA or ARC also required.
  • Prior medical assistant or medical assistant externship experience preferred.
