About the Role

The Operations Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the public transit service for RATP Dev USA. This role provides direction and guidance to supervisors and front-line staff, establishing and emphasizing a culture of safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains effective working relationships and communication with senior management, peers, and subordinates.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, managing, and developing operations personnel.
  • Builds effective relationships, responds to union grievances, assists in arbitration, and interprets the union contract, where applicable.
  • Oversees and manages daily operations and customer service through direct reports.
  • Monitors data on ridership, fare collection, and key indicators to identify, evaluate, and improve performance.
  • Creates reporting and analysis to improve overall operations.
  • Ensures operations are consistent with adopted policies, governmental regulations, and transit interests of the public.
  • Reviews and maintains accident investigations and customer complaints.
  • Manages within the division's allocated budget.
  • Formulates and maintains the Service Safety and Efficiency Performance Plan (SSEPP).
  • Available to staff, advisory boards, outside organizations, and the riding public.
  • Ability to function as the General Manager in the GM's absence.
  • Experience with Optibus platform is preferable.

  • CDL A or B
