About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at EvenUp. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in building a strong infrastructure to support our company's growth and scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Operations: Manage the payable process workflow from beginning to end, including processing invoices, contract management, and administering our Corporate Credit Card Program & Travel & Expense Program.
  • Financial Reporting: Perform month-end closing and financial reporting process, including preparing, reviewing, and analyzing accounting entries and account reconciliations for both Canadian and US entities.
  • Bookkeeping: Responsible for monthly bookkeeping for the Canadian entity.
  • Financial Analysis: Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely and accurate monthly financial statements aligning with GAAP standards.
  • Financial Audit: Support the preparation and facilitation of annual financial audit processes.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare GST/HST and sales tax remittances for accuracy and compliance with governing legislation and regulation.
  • Process Improvement: Build and maintain best-in-class processes, help streamline accounting processes via automation, identifying efficiencies and standardization to improve effectiveness of processes and internal controls.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Professional Certifications: CPA designation or equivalent.
  • Work Experience: 3-5 years of professional work experience.
  • Technical Skills: Highly proficient in Google Sheets/Excel, direct ERP experience required, NetSuite preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, concepts, and professional judgment, with exposure to US GAAP as an asset.
