CS/Sterile Processing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled CS/Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. As a key member of our sterile processing department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care by maintaining aseptic technique and adhering to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform efficient and meticulous decontamination/sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Inspect and assemble surgical instruments, equipment, trays, and packs according to prescribed protocols and industry standards.
- Rotate assignments among various decontamination sterilization processing, surgical tray assembly in a continually changing medical and surgical facility.
- Assist in recordkeeping and monitoring equipment operations.
- Maintain department inventory and identify/report supply, equipment, and procedure problems.
- Dispense equipment and supplies.
- Graduation from the HSPA and one year of related work experience.
- Current certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) at hire or within six months of date of hire.
- Knowledge of infection prevention standards and techniques.
- Knowledge of aseptic/sterilization/disinfection techniques, procedures, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to effectively operate and maintain a variety of sterilization equipment.
