Position Overview: At US Oncology, Inc., we are seeking exceptional nursing professionals to deliver high-quality care in the field of medical oncology.

Role Responsibilities: Under minimal supervision, you will provide professional nursing care to patients, adhering to national standards and company guidelines specific to oncology.

Patient Assessment: You will assess health status by interviewing patients regarding their current condition and medical history. This includes:

  • Collecting and documenting nursing assessments and interventions.
  • Reviewing and reporting results from health assessments, physical examinations, and relevant laboratory data.
  • Identifying patient and family needs, providing education and instructional materials.

Therapeutic Administration: You will prepare and administer therapies under the supervision of a physician, ensuring:

  • Pre-authorization and consent forms are obtained prior to treatment.
  • Accurate documentation of patient care and treatments.
  • Compliance with OSHA guidelines when handling hazardous materials.

Clinical Operations: Your role will also involve:

  • Managing patient medication refill requests and documenting them appropriately.
  • Facilitating consultations, diagnostic tests, and referrals.
  • Coordinating communication between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.

Professional Development: You will participate in ongoing educational opportunities to maintain current knowledge in oncology nursing.

Qualifications: Candidates must have graduated from an accredited nursing program, possess a valid RN state license, and have a minimum of five years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology. Oncology certification is preferred.

Work Environment: This position may involve exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions typical of an oncology clinic.
