Job Summary

Western Wisconsin Health is seeking a full-time Central Supply Coordinator to join our Surgical Services department. The Central Supply Coordinator will assist the surgical team in direct patient care, with primary emphasis during the intraoperative period in scrubbing and assisting the surgeon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acts as the main contact/liaison between OR and Materials for daily operations and projects;
  • Leads conversations with Agiliti/Steris for PM's and repairs of CSR equipment;
  • Coordinates instrument sharpening with outside vendor;
  • Directs office staff with special equipment requests that is needed for cases with reps;
  • Coordinates with reps on equipment needs prior to surgery that we do not have in house;
  • Leads onboarding of new providers with assisting with building preference cards, talking with surgeon to notify equipment WWH has in house;
  • Communicates directly with surgeons for equipment needs;
  • Reviews and uploads documentation of sterilizers/VPRO in electronic format;
  • Ensures staff have the most up-to-date knowledge regarding CSR machines/protocols/policies/workflows (being a point of contact in addition to manager);
  • Assigns staff assignments while manager is out of the office;
  • Guides scrub techs to optimize the flow daily;
  • Heads the CSR policy review and contributes to the most up-to-date information for presenting to Surgery Committee;
  • Researches provider requests of equipment and/or supplies and gives recommendations based on cost evaluation in addition to manager;
  • Assists with State inspections of CSR department;
  • Leads yearly inventory of CSR department;
  • Researches borrowed equipment to follow the vendors IFU for decontamination and sterilization of equipment safely;
  • Delegates small projects to other staff members;
  • Works as a Surgical Technician (see Surgical Technician job description);

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an authorized surgical technology program;
  • Surgical Technician Certification (or plans to become certified when eligible);
  • BLS certification;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Robotics, General, Orthopedics, ENT, GYN, GI, Podiatry, Spine, and Urology;

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Maintain the integrity of highly confidential business and patient information;
  • Display and promote high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational standards;
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and electronic medical records;
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently;
  • Ability to consistently carry out job responsibilities, able to acknowledge when commitments are not met, and take appropriate steps to fulfill responsibility;

Work Schedule:

  • 0.9 FTE - 72 hours per biweekly pay period;
  • Evening and Weekend call rotation;
