**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Referral Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring patients have been cleared for specialty service visits. This will involve processing prior authorizations, scheduling appointments, and tracking referrals.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Don appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Prepare and process all referral and pre-authorization paperwork.
  • Contact various clinics, facilities, and companies to obtain information to accurately complete referral and pre-authorization requests.
  • Utilize third-party payer and insurance portals, with a detailed knowledge of insurance providers, their portals, and their expectations for authorization approval.
  • Call patients within 48 hours of initial referral to provide updates.

**Requirements**

  • Bilingual, Spanish and English preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.
  • Medical or administrative training.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working in a hospital or other clinical environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
