Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Architect to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a key member of our data management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the life cycle of DCAS data, ensuring its quality, integrity, and reliability.

Data Governance

The successful candidate will have a strong background in data governance, with experience in developing and implementing strategies to assess and maintain data quality. They will also be responsible for defining and documenting data and terminology in a relevant glossary, ensuring that each critical data element has a clear definition and is still in use.

  • Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-agency teams to ensure official agency records requirements, privacy, security, and other related requirements are met.
  • Provide oversight to ensure data issues, needs, and requirements are documented and addressed.
Data Quality

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of data-quality metrics and requirements, including defining values, ranges, and parameters acceptable for each data element. They will work closely with the DCAS Data Research, Analytics, and Management team to establish procedures for detection and correction of data-quality issues.

  • Coordinate with DCAS program teams and stakeholder agencies to ensure the quality and integrity of DCAS data elements (content and metadata).
  • Facilitate the creation of data standards based on business rules, data access security requirements, and retention of legacy data.
Security and Risk Management

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of data security and risk management principles, with experience in establishing guidelines and protocols to govern data proliferation. They will compile retention, archival, and disposal requirements and ensure compliance with institutional policy and regulations.

  • Review agency and interagency data-related work products.
  • Coordinate cross-agency efforts to ensure official agency records requirements, privacy, security, and other related requirements are met for data.
Policies and Procedures

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of data access policies and procedures, with experience in defining criteria for authorization based on role or individual. They will work closely with DCAS IT, Privacy, and PMO to establish controls and evaluate suspected or actual breaches or vulnerabilities in confidentiality, integrity, or availability.

  • Monitor and analyze federal, state, and local data requirements, standards, and rules (internal and external).
  • Coordinate efforts with stakeholder agencies to interpret business needs into applications and derive data requirements representing business entities' needs.
  • Present findings and recommendations to DCAS leadership, Executive Steering Committee, and other stakeholders regarding recommended changes to improve operating practices, accountability, or transparency.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience. This estimate is based on national averages and may vary based on local market conditions. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package to attract top talent.
