Senior Payroll Manager

At Engine Room, we're seeking a seasoned Senior Payroll Manager to join our team of finance and accounting experts. As a key member of our payroll team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll for our start-up clients.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll, including review and audit of payroll information
• Collaborate with client teams and processing platform contacts to ensure payroll accuracy
• Train and become proficient in various payroll and benefit platforms
• Manage client payroll compliance, state payroll taxation, registrations, and benefit plans
• Assist in client implementation and/or conversion of payroll and benefit plans
• Transition client work to other team members as needed
• Other job-related tasks or projects
Qualifications:
• Proactive and efficient mindset to meet client needs
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll related platforms
• Knowledge of state registrations, payroll tax, and compliance activities
• Minimum 6 years' experience in multi-state payroll processing
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or relevant certification preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Remote or telecommute work from home.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
