Role Summary: The Certified Surgical Instrument Technician is responsible for the upkeep and management of all surgical tools, sterilization equipment, instrument cleaning devices, and monitoring systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Must hold certification as a Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • Experience with advanced surgical technologies, including daVinci Robot, ophthalmic procedures, and endoscopic techniques is preferred, along with familiarity with various sterilization methods and operating room instruments.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills in preparing surgical instrument trays.
  • Possesses knowledge of steam/gravity sterilizers and Sterrad systems.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and departmental supplies is essential.
  • Encourages a culture of safety and care for patients.
