Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Support Teacher to join our team at Primrose School of Cahoon Commons. As a Support Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping young minds explore, discover, and understand the world around them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Supervision: You will be responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Curriculum Implementation: You will implement the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum and programming.
  • Classroom Environment: You will maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence.
  • Child Development: You will provide verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for their behavior, promoting their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance: You will accept responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, and playgrounds.
  • Professional Appearance: You will maintain overall professional personal appearance, adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School at Edinburgh Commons Employee Handbook.
  • Additional Responsibilities: You will assist in other capacities as determined by the Director or designee.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: You must meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency.
  • Experience: Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
  • Skills and Knowledge: You must have knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children, as well as the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
