Position Overview

The Biorepository Inventory Specialist I plays a crucial operational role within the Biorepository division, focusing on designated client storage initiatives. This role demands exceptional organizational abilities, as it involves managing multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.

Successful candidates will exhibit a keen attention to detail, ensuring that all pertinent information is meticulously documented, and that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are strictly followed while handling client inventories and database systems.

Key Responsibilities

The Biorepository Inventory Specialist I will:

  • Support the Biorepository, Analytical Biological Services, and clients by adhering to established guidelines to guarantee that client inventory and products are properly accessioned, stored, and maintained in line with internal SOPs.
  • Ensure that all products are preserved and managed to meet the highest quality standards.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational capabilities
  • A meticulous approach to detail
  • Proficient computer skills
  • The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • A collaborative spirit to work effectively within a team
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • An associate degree in a medical or biological science
  • A bachelor’s degree in biological science or a related field is preferred
  • Relevant certifications in medical sciences are advantageous
  • Experience in a production laboratory setting, such as a medical technologist or blood bank, is preferred
  • Prior experience in a Biorepository or sample management is a plus
  • A combination of education and relevant work experience may be acceptable
  • Familiarity with BSI database systems is preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience in handling biohazard materials and biospecimens is preferred
