Healthcare Appointment Specialist

Position Overview:
Join Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, a leading provider of oncology services, as we seek a dedicated and experienced Healthcare Appointment Specialist. This role is essential in ensuring our patients receive timely and compassionate care.
Compensation: $18.29 - $24.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, wellness programs, retirement plans, life insurance, and paid time off.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage scheduling of follow-up appointments in a high-volume clinic environment, adhering to provider directives and office protocols.
- Handle appointment cancellations and rescheduling, ensuring clear communication with both patients and clinic staff.
- Facilitate financial counseling for patients as required.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to clinic policies to maintain a professional front office environment.
- Assist with outpatient appointment scheduling and hospital admissions, including obtaining necessary authorizations.
- Communicate with patients regarding scheduled tests and necessary preparations, gathering relevant information as needed.
- Efficiently manage incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate personnel and responding to urgent inquiries promptly.
- Welcome patients and visitors to the clinic, ensuring a courteous and professional atmosphere.
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information, maintaining accurate records.
- Process co-pays and other payments during patient visits, providing receipts as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office setting.
- Familiarity with practice management systems and insurance processes is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records and practice management software.
- Willingness to complete required training within the first 90 days of employment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Demonstrated history of providing high-quality service.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Physical Requirements:
The role requires the ability to perform essential functions, including sitting or standing for extended periods, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs.
Work Environment:
Work may involve exposure to various medical conditions and requires in-person interaction with colleagues and patients.
