Dignity Health Medical Foundation is seeking a skilled Dietitian to join our team. As a Dietitian, you will work closely with our Endocrinologist, Gastroenterology, and Primary Care providers to assist with nutrition planning for patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, chronic kidney disease, congestive heart failure, obesity, and stomach conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nutrition counseling to patients and develop group classes to help patients manage their nutrition better.
  • Apply adult learning techniques to one-on-one patients and groups in a class setting.
  • Assess patients for nutrition counseling and make appropriate selections of counseling techniques and processes.
  • Plan and develop curriculum for health education programs.
  • Participate in continued education related to nutrition education.
  • Establish an environment conducive to behavior change and transfer of education.
  • Work with managers and education assistants to ensure sufficient and appropriate office and class materials.
  • Convey confidential patient information back to referring primary care physicians.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in dietetics or nutrition from an accredited college or university.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • Effective listening and verbal skills to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
  • Ability to perform skin fold measurement and blood glucose monitoring.
  • Knowledge of age and gender-specific characteristics.
  • Ability to apply adult learning principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with gtube management.
  • Previous experience with medical information systems and work processing.
