- Ability to follow and comprehend detailed instructions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of holding areas, runs, stalls, and pens, ensuring animals have access to food, water, and proper grooming.
- Provide daily care and nutrition for a variety of livestock and companion animals.
- Report any notable health conditions of animals to the supervising authority.
- Exhibit proficient animal control skills and knowledge.
- Keep accurate records pertaining to the health and status of livestock and companion animals.
- Engage with animals for data collection and health assessments as required.
- Complete necessary professional development training hours as mandated by Dallas College.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Physical Demands
This position involves standard physical activities typically found in an office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with physical challenges to fulfill essential responsibilities. Occasionally, the role may require lifting and transporting materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED with some experience in animal handling.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays is necessary.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred.
