Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Maintain all operations and ensure they are up to standard when the manager is not present.
  • Crisis Management: Remain calm during stressful or unexpected situations to keep standard operations running smoothly and help team members adjust to the situation.
  • Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with the manager to ensure smooth transitions and prevent miscommunication.
  • Team Development: Create a positive team environment by paying attention to changes or difficulties team members may be experiencing. Assist team members to solve problems and increase efficiency in their performance.
  • Administrative Tasks: Execute closing duties, opening duties, and general bakery operations and be consistent with punctuality and attendance on scheduled shifts.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure all orders and inventory are received and organized accordingly.
  • Health and Safety: Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures and ensure all team members are following those procedures.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Proficient ability with technology/computer systems (i.e. Excel, attendance system, ordering system, etc).
  • Leadership Skills: Able to manage bakery operations independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Able to manage multiple situations simultaneously and ensure that established service levels are achieved at all times.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, and walking. Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
