Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Donation Attendant to join our team. As a key member of our donation center, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our donation trailer/pod. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and organized workspace, assisting donors with the receipt of donated items, and separating and sorting donations into the proper containers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the donation trailer/pod and surrounding area.
  2. Assist donors with the receipt of donated items and provide a receipt.
  3. Separate and sort donations into the proper containers.
  4. Assist with loading donations onto trucks as needed.
  5. Inform the supervisor of needed items prior to running out.
  6. Secure and lock the donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift.
  7. Maintain all reports and paperwork as instructed by the supervisor.

Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors.
  • Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects up to 75lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
